DIY Photo Canvas

When you’re running short on time and need to make a craft, a photo canvas is an easy and adorable way to show your sister you appreciate her. This project is quick, simple and thoughtful- the perfect craft for a busy sorority girl!

Rachel Avila, a member of Sigma Kappa, made this craft for one of her sorority sisters.

“I felt like crafting for some of my sisters one day, so I kind of just made it up as I went,” Avila said.

Step 1: Find a picture of your sister and you, and either print it out on your computer or order a print from your local drug store. Buy a blank frame from any crafting store. Hobby Lobby usually has great deals on canvases, especially when you buy them in packs.

Step 2: Glue the photo to the canvas. You can use any type of glue, but superglue is probably your best option.

Step 3: Using a fine paintbrush, paint the name of your sorority on both sides of the photo.

Step 4: Tie a piece of ribbon into a basic bow. Or, if you would like to, you can do a more complex bow.

“There are so many different ways to tie a bow, so be creative! It’ll definitely make your canvas look nicer,” Avila said.

And there you go! Even though this is a really simple project, all of your sisters will adore it.

Kristen Hwang, also a member of Sigma Kappa, received one of these canvases.

“I’m absolutely in love with it,” Hwang said. “It’s so meaningful and looks perfect on my wall!”
